News to come When Belgium learns from Congo: Eric Ngabala, facilitator of RDC Competence shared his experience with BelCompetence |
I always asked myself: How can we place human being at the centre of the HIV response and not the means? When Jean-Louis, Chair of the Constellation, and Colette, facilitator explained the Constellation's approach to me, I realized that I found what I was looking for.
One year after the launch of the ADB-NGO Competence Process, National Facilitation Teams are emerging in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea and Thailand. In several countries, NGOs are scaling up the ACP to reach out to an exponential number of communities. The AIDS Competence Process had a real impact on the way participating NGOs work and on the AIDS Competence of the communities they work with.
From 26 to 29 May, truckers, People Living with HIV and Constellation coaches came together in DR-Congo for the fourth GLIA wide learning event, focussing on "measuring change". The following stories, collected by Jean Legastelois, show that the GLIA Competence Process is already a great success.
The Constellations membership meeting approved (1) the composition of the new Board, (2) the 2008 work plan and budget, (3) the Terms of References of the Core Facilitation Team, (4) the Membership and Financial Committee and (5) the concept of the Single Point of Accountability.
From 19 to 26 of September 2008, the Constellation organizes another week of SALT visits in Northern Thailand. The strengths of people in Northern Thailand have inspired the Constellation from its foundation: come and experience by yourself!
